koreans

damn. i just got home now just now at 4am. did too much today. badminton then sushi then karaoke then laser tag then drinks then video games. met some cool people :]

i like to be wined and dined after i’ve been fucked

So I had some McDonald’s today. Filled myself up with junk. A McChicken and 20-piece Chicken McNuggets. Yaknow, cuz “I liked to be wined and dined after I’ve been fucked.”

I took a midterm today for my CSE140 class, which specifically is Components and Design Techniques for Digital Systems. I wasn’t expecting the midterm to be anything significant since he said it was on par with our homework assignments, and those haven’t been too bad until our most recent assignment, where the average was 52/100. Our lab projects are quite extensive to the point where we have to spend at least 12 hours on each, and due on the Wednesday 4:00pm of each week. Oh, yeah enough background. So I took the midterm today, 4th week into the summer course. I’ve been told the professor was hard and from past experiences, whenever I hear someone say “Oh, man. That class was haaarrrrdddd” I wouldn’t take heed of their warning and to my expectations, the classes weren’t even hard at all. I always took that saying as something trite and commonplace and as an overplayed exaggeration. However, this was an utter understatement.

As we’re passed the test from our slightly late professor, he jokes about how the printer broke down and that he had only printed half of the test for us. We receive our midterm and first thing we notice, it’s been double-stapled. Not for reasons of securing the papers tightly together so that they don’t fall apart, no don’t get me wrong, it’s been double-stapled because the first staple wouldn’t go through the stack at all. The midterm was 27 pages long, excluding a blank sheet and our name/grading sheets it was 24 pages long. I had anticipated to finish the midterm early and leave so I could finish my lab project which is due the next day at 4:00pm, but as I got to question 4, things didn’t seem too bright. It was a 10 question midterm and by the 3 hour mark, when the class was over, I was only on question 6. Luckily, or not really actually, he gave us another hour to work on the test. I went through the whole test a couple of times but nothing was processing in my head. Honestly I’d be thrilled and exhilarated if by some stroke of luck and misinterpretation of my test paper that I got even a 50/200. I’m actually hoping I at least got 50 points.

Prior to our midterm, I must stress on the fact that this was only a midterm, by god I wonder how our final will be, the professor told us that if it’s hard for us, don’t worry it’s hard for everybody! Well, my mind hasn’t been functionally properly even though it’s been 5 hours since I’ve been brutally ass raped by what seems to be 50 black men in their primes.

Although I know everyone who follows me on tumblr don’t go to UCSD or aren’t Computer Science majors, but a piece of advice to all those out there: never take a class with professor orailoglu. I never felt so stupid in my life.

letsaddcontext asked: YOU SHOULD POST YOUR SEXY WALLPAPERS TO TUMBLR.

HAHAHAHAA MAYBE I SHOULD. gotta show the girls who keep posting pictures of lingerie up what the pics SHOULD be like >:]

For those of you who just can’t hold it in :]

BEE TEE DUBBAYOU

There’s still a chance I can get you (Sophia/Pam, yeah I know you’re on. You’re ALWAYS on tumblr D:) Sungod tickets. I’ll letcha know next week. Hopefully my friend sells em to me since it doesn’t seem like his friends are coming down

M.I.A.

So it has come to my attention that a chapter of my life has gone missing. So I shall try to compensate for that and go over briefly what has happened since I’ve last posted.

After having an awesome spring break back home in SJ—going to Red Robins, watching the Smash tourney in CFball, and TK noodle—all that backlashed at the airport.

Back in SD
Anyhow, Clinton came to visit for his spring break, so the first week was quite enjoyable. Not to mention Kelvin came down for the weekend. We hung out, played Settlers of Catan, a little bit of smash, went to BBQChicken twice, once with Kelvin/His sister/My sister, watched two movies, Adjustment Bureau and Source Code, and went to downtown San Diego. I’m quite excited for summer/next school year since I’ll finally be living off campus, out of this horrible triple and with my homays :]. STANFORD AND KIM YOU BETTER FUCKING GET IN, APPEAL IF YOU HAVE TO, SUCK THE ADMISSIONS OFFICE’S COCK.

Spring Quarter
This quarter I’m taking LTKO1a which is a beginning level korean course, CSE 20 discrete mathematics, CSE 30 SPARC architecture, and ENG100a/100l, teams in engineering services course, which I enjoy, except for lecture. For the first two weeks, I haven’t as much work as I had anticipated, but definitely Korean is taking too much of my time. It turns out, this Korean course, is a beginning level, but for heritage students with little background. I always thought it was a non-heritage speaking class because that’s what it said online during registration, turns out I was wrong. Now I’m swamped with tons of Korean phrases every week, with daily homework that is to be turned in, weekly quizzes, and biweekly exams. This is really killing me. But at least I’ve learned a lot from this class.

Right now discrete mathematics is a joke. The teacher isn’t great at teaching the class even with the most simple of ideas. It’s already third week, and we have a midterm this Thursday and all we’ve gone over was one’s complement, two’s complement, gray code, and range of numbers.

I can’t say much for CSE30 because all we’ve had are lectures about the SPARC architecture, and the first “real” homework assignment is due next wednesday. meh.

Eng100 lecture is pretty much bullshit. We have to address a need that the city of San Ysidro should focus on and we must propose a feasible solution. Right now, the most critical problems that the community faces is air quality control. Because San Ysidro is on the border between the US and Mexico, cars are averaging about 4 hours of idle time trying to get past the border, producing a shit ton of pollutants and black carbon which is harmful for the people living there. Honestly, there’s not much that we can do and we don’t even have a specific aim at the moment. This class is going to be boring/annoying.

Eng100L is much more enjoyable. Aside from the lecture class, we have teams for both classes. A team for ENG100A and ENG100L. My team for ENG100L actually has a specific goal, which is to create portable and inexpensive solar panels for Kenya. My team is filled with seniors and me and this newly added guy are the youngest, second years. We had a team bonding session at SushiKi where the food was freaking expensive, and everyone drank because they were of age. I was allowed to try some yogurt soju, which taste exactly like those soft yogurt drinks from Ranch99 with a little bit of carbonation. So far, I have assembled a prototype mock-up for our future design of the solar panels and am on the data logging team, where we have to create and program a data logger to calculate how much wattage/power/energy and other statistics that the panels are generating.

Life in General
Oh yeah, as some of you may know, definitely Lawrence and Adrian, I drink cappuccino EVERYDAY, or almost at least. Well here in SD all I have are those extremely cheap and nice Ikea cups, which were 25 cents. However, I need to use hot water to make cappuccino and every time I pour hot water into those plastic cups, I’m afraid that it’d be bad for me. I’ve been meaning to go to Daiso and buying a mug or something so I could drink my cappuccino without worry, but haven’t gotten to it since I can’t drive. Anyways, I visited Shannon for a little bit at her place and to my surprise, she had a surprise! She gave me a belated birthday gift and when I opened it, it was a mug! and had some sour patch kids and sour gummy worms, which I coincidentally felt like buying that day before I even opened the gift! So, it was a nice pleasant surprise :]

Mmmm. Well, honestly I don’t have much more to blog about, but in about a month or so… SUNGOD! Hope to see you all there! Whoever is going of course. I really hope I can get some tickets already for Pam and Sophia, I’m afraid the tickets are going to run out :X Oh well, me and Lisa are planning to buy them early Thursday morning, since that’s the next day they’ll be selling tickets to non-voucher students. I woke up early Monday morning to try to grab hold of some tickets, only to find myself in line for an hour, which only moved twice, then I went over to take my Korean exam, which I got brutally raped by. oh welps.

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

BARONA THIS FRIDAY!!! WITH CLINTON AND KELVIN!!! and that one girl Clinton’s with… kekeke jkjk Leslie, you too. :D! IMA STUFF MAHSELF WITH CRAB

NEVERMIND. KOREANBBQ~

WHAT THE RIDICULOUS

Today, after Nelson and Lawrence left my house, my mom’s side of the family came over to visit and bring my Grandmother’s TV from SF here. So, on that side of the family, I have a nephew who’s like what… 8? I really don’t even know how old he is, but his name is Kyle, that’s something I do know, actually I don’t even know if that’s how you spell his name. ANYWAYS. He’s at that age where he thinks he’s extremely cool and knows everything in the world, so he keeps trying to talk to me and being calling me stupid. He asked me, what I’m going to do when I get a job, and I said programming.

Him: “Program what?? Program what??”

I’m trying to start up WoW and he’s just pestering with me so I ignore him, and the answers kinda obvious.

Him: “Program what you stupid!”

I just stare at him a little more, hope he kinda gets it.

Him: “Hey you stupid?! program what?!”
Me: “Program programs.”
Him: “Ohhhhhh hahahaha I knew that.”

Afterwards, we went to Grand Century to go get some food. I wanted pho cuz it’s been like 4 months since I’ve had some and man, have I been deprived. My mom wanted me to eat banh xeo, but honestly, I think it tastes like nothing without nuoc mam. Grand Century is like modern-ghetto. Like, it’s pretty new and modern, but at the same time, ridiculously ghetto. I kinda forget sometimes how ghetto vietnamese people can be since I hang out with so many of them in my group, and they are definitely not those kind of viet kids. Not to mention that there’s a shit ton of Mexicans here too, it’s like a coalition of vietnamese and mexicans where, the mexicans are still being exploited for their cheap labor.

When we come back home, I start up Magicka with Daniel and Kelvin and my nephew continues pestering me, like he wants me to be his best friend, no joke. He keeps asking me for my email and facebook and stuff, YEAH FACEBOOK. HE HAS A FACEBOOK. AND HIS AGE IS LIKE. I DON’T EVEN KNOW. But, he’s not one I’d like to befriend much, not to mention this happened before dinner, I mean I saw it coming, but I can’t bitch out a little kid yaknow?

Him: “hey! hey! look over here! i have something to show you”
Me: *talking on aim* “mmm. what?”
Him: “here! look! let me see your face!”
Me: “why.”
Him: “just let me see your face!”

I turn to look at him for a little bit and he just has a big ‘ol pedophilic smile and just slaps my face.

Him: “hehehehe! you know, your face I just really want to slap you.”
Me: “that’s great, you just did.”

Too bad he’s a kid of an unknown age otherwise the things I would have wanted to say would’ve made him cry and scar him for the next 10 years and develop a fear of social interaction. This kid. who wants to play basketball with a flat ball, thinks he’s the best at DDR by using the wii remote and not the pad, slaps my face, calls me nitwit and stupid all the time, wants me to be his best friend?! The hell?! I’m confused. I’m pretty sure I’ve looked up to older kids when I was young, but I wasn’t that retardedly agressive

COMING HOME

As some of you already know, I’m coming home today! yeayuhhh. However, this day has not been going exactly as expected, and has been going downhill since I woke up. This shall be a recollection up to the point of where I am now, at the airport. Hopefully I can finish this post before the batteries on my laptop die out as I am too lazy to go find another seat and plug my charger in.

Here’s brief info of what is supposed to happen today, if it does go exactly according to plan that is.

8:00 wake up and get ready to go to the airport.
9:00 shuttle from peterson hall (10 minute walk up a slight hill) to the airport
9:40 get check in, send in baggage, go through security checkpoint
10:55 flight back home
12:15 get back home
— chill with the homies back home :]

HOWEVER. here’s what really happened.

8:00
I woke up took a shower, got ready, and left my apartment at 8:50. I was hella worried that I was going to be late for my shuttle and that it’s going to leave without me. I brought a duffel bag so, it was a huge pain carrying it all the way to where the shuttle was supposed to pick me up from, and I was extremely tired walking up that last stretch of the little hill.

9:00
I saw a UCSD shuttle and right when I got to the top of the hill, it left. In my mind, I was like whatever, I can catch the next one that comes an hour later. Then I set down my stuff, sit on the bench, and just relax and cool myself down. Across from me there’s a girl, with a luggage, on the phone calling about rides to the airport. Naturally, in my mind I was like hmm, maybe there wasn’t enough room in the shuttle and she got fucked over. So just to make sure, I waited until she was done with her phone conversation and asked her:

Me: “Hey, was that the shuttle earlier?”
Her: “Nooooo!! There aren’t any shuttles running todayyy!!

In my mind. FUCK. So I first called my two roommates, who’re sleeping peacefully back in the apartment. Of course, he doesn’t pick up and just sleeps through the damn call. I was going to call to see if he could ask my white apartment mate a huge favor of driving me to the airport, since I saw him awake this morning and he does have a car. But no, no response whatsoever from my apartmentmates/roommates. My other best option was Lisa, Kelvin’s sister for those of you who don’t know. Thankfully she had nothing to do today and that her finals were over the previous week. I owe her.

Being the gentleman I am, the girl who was there before me was still calling people. So I asked her if she found a ride, and she didn’t at the time, so I offered that if she can’t find anyone before 10:00 then I’ll ask Lisa if she was able to carry one more. The girl, who I later found out was a freshman named Sherry, was like “noooo, I don’t think I can find a ride.” So, I asked Lisa if she could take one more, and knowing Lisa she wouldn’t deny these sorts of requests. I owe her twice now hahaha.

Well. My computers about to die out, and my planes going to arrive in 20 minutes, but won’t actually depart for another 50 minutes or so. I’ll update when I get back home. Peace all you morning people!

9:30
Apparently Lisa decided to come earlier than what was originally planned. The meeting destination was near my apartment, so I walked back and the girl followed. Even though the weather was like 60 degrees, I got so hot/exhausted from walking up and down while carrying my duffel. The only good outcome of this shuttle incident was that because I was rushing to the shuttle, I had forgotten my keys! So, getting back to my apartment I was able to pick up my keys, which also had my home keys attached to them.

9:45
Lisa arrives on the scene, yay! When we got to the airport, it was already 10:10 and my flight’s at 10:55. SHIT! I rushed into line while Sherry tagged behind me, her flight was at 12 something, I don’t even remember. After getting through the baggage check, we then proceeded onto the security checkpoint. Whaddaya know. I was randomly selected to be screened for explosives. Before that I asked the guy what time it was. 10:30. cutting it close… Thank god all they did was wipe my hands with some cloth and put it in a machine. I quickly got my crap and Sherry was right behind me. We parted our ways and I got to my gate. It was CROWDED. Took a while just to get to look at the flight statuses. and whoop de doo. my flight was delayed an hour -.-

10:50

I listen to my Ipod, turn on my laptop, check my email, check facebook, check tumblr, and started writing this post. Too bad my computer died midway. Nothing interesting happened much after this, but I ended up getting home at 1:30ish. Dad had to call work saying he’d be late to pick me up and whatnots. The only thing that did happen to some notable extent was that this woman kept freaking staring at me, it was weird, made me uncomfortable. Oh, and before I sat down, there were two Chinese men talking. I overheard their conversation and that flight 1935 was departing, last call for flight 1935 to San Jose. One of the men was like OH SHIT. THAT’S MY FLIGHT BYEE. I’VE BEEN HERE FOR 3 HOURS. I DON’T WANT TO MISS IT. in Chinese of course. I just thought it was funny cuz of the way he said it. CHING CHONG LING LONG TING TONG SO RRROWD.

3:43
Nothing to do, where is everyone?! :[
